Same process for the fingerboard, warm water and warm palette knives.
This is definitely NOT hide glue. It comes away opaque and slightly gummy. I think it is carpenter's yellow glue, so applying heat is the next thing.
This is one way to do it... seems to be working.
Success! the fingerboard is flat sawn hard maple and the neck appears to be hard maple as well.
