Removing the bridge

Step one, take out the bolts. Easy with a slot head screwdriver.
Step two, what kind of glue is this? Fortunately the previous repair left lots of squeeze out, so I can grab some. It is brittle and sparkly and dissolves in warm water. Must be hide glue!
Using warm water and a warm palette knife, I gradually sneak it under the edge of the bridge.
It's slow, but it is definitely dissolving the glue.
After about an hour, it is off without damaging the top any further than it already was. It will be interesting to try to match the colour of the top before regluing the bridge.
